Annabel, our designer, will then visit to find out what you are looking for.
You’ll find our consultations involve much more than simply popping in to take a quick set of measurements (which is all many firms do).
Your design consultation is your opportunity to ask questions, discuss possibilities, and explore options. Your shutters will last you for many years to come, so it’s important to be sure you’re making the right choice.
Annabel will take the time to understand the look, feel and functionality you want from you shutters. She’ll then explain what the options are, and give suggestions for ideas to make the most of the opportunities the space presents.
You’ll be able to see samples of the different ranges, colour swatches, and examples of accessories such as hinges and catches.
Measuring up can’t be rushed. With plantation shutters, the secret to success lies in making sure each measurement is spot on. Anything less than 100% accuracy, and the shutters may never fit well or function smoothly.
Every single window is different. Even what might look like a standard-shape window in a modern house is unlikely to have perfectly plumb lines or square right angles. In older houses, we can virtually guarantee lines will be out of true. And, of course, where windows are unusual shapes, then it’s vital to take care to get the measurements right at the start.
For this reason, Annabel may only take rough measurements during the initial visit – just enough to calculate a quote for you. For larger or more complex projects, she or one of the team will make a second visit to measure up fully once the quote is accepted.
